Tainted Ring Posted November 17, 2010 by Lori Moore

It's nice that "Waity Katie" finally got her engagement ring from Prince William, but would you feel weird wearing Princess Diana's engagement ring?  She stopped wearing it as soon as she learned that Chuck and Camilla were still gettin' it on even after the storybook wedding.  It's tainted and dare I say HEXED.

That was not a match made in heaven.  She had a miserable marriage and a tragic ending.

Fresh jewels!  I would demand fresh jewels.

Suffragette City Posted November 1, 2010 by Lori Moore

Okay, girlfriends...just a little something to comtemplate:  Women have only had the right to vote in The United States for 90 years.  So DO IT!!!!  Tuesday!  There were some amazing women who made this possible so don't waste the right to vote on November 2nd.

Ooooooooh!!!!! Posted October 27, 2010 by Lori Moore

Dan Holroyd of Southern MI Paranormals told me this morning that Kalamazoo's State Theatre and The Henderson Castle are two of the most "haunted" spots in Michigan.

Past guests have also mentioned The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre as being a hotbed of paranormal activity.  Happy Halloween!

Bummer Posted October 11, 2010 by Lori Moore

According to Bernie Porn, president of EPIC/MRA , only about 3 people watched the debate last night.  I guess they were all in my family room!

Oh, well.  I found it enjoyable.   Virg came out guns a'blazin'.  Rick held his own after a bit of nerves at the beginning ("I want to threaten...I mean....THANK you"). Freudian slip.

My favorite moment was when the candidates were asked whether they would forgo taking a salary ala Detroit mayor Dave Bing.  Snyder said he didn't want to answer and appear to be pandering.  Bernero said, "You're hilarious!" HA! Well, that was an honest answer.

The pundits are saying that Bernero needed a decisive victory last night and that it didn't happen.

Porn is predicting that the elections for the Democrats will be like when the wall of water bears down on the ship in "The Posseidon Adventure" and they'll be saying "Oh my GOD!"

There's No Business Like Show Business Posted October 8, 2010 by Lori Moore

Hollywood?   Portage?  They're one and the same tonight when the movie "Cherry" makes its commercial debut at The Celebration Cinema @ 7:00.  The movie was filmed 2 years ago on the campuses of WMU and Kalamazoo College.  I'll see you there!

Terrible, but fun Posted October 7, 2010 by Lori Moore

Have you watched "Detroit 187" yet?  It's a crime drama on ABC following "Dancing With the Stars".  It stars Michael Imperioli and two totally unrealistically glamorous actors portraying Detroit cops.  The plotlines are choppy.  The writing is terrible.  BUT....BUT....it features action scenes in places you'll recognize like: Hart Plaza, the bombed out train station, Motor City Casino and more.  For that reason alone I have endured 3 episodes so far.  I hope it improves because it's great to see the familiar sites (unflattering though the portrayal may be).

Yesterday afternoon I went to the BEST concert I've ever been to in my life: WMUsic Showcase Spectacular.  Over 600 students sent me into a state of bliss for 90 heavenly minutes. The performances were flawless and even more amazingly, the execution was seamless.  I don't know how they did it.  BRAVO!

Go to the "slider section" of WKZO.COM and submit your recipe for this year's ALL HOLIDAY edition of "A Holiday Dish to Pass".  We are starting at the beginning of the year and coming up with themed recipes for ALL the holidays.  11 non-profit groups and Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes will benefit from money raised from cookbook sales AND from matching money from The Kalamazoo Community Foundation.

Pace Yourself Posted September 10, 2010 by Lori Moore

Whew!  What a weekend coming up: Art Hop and Bronco Bash tonight...  The Street Rods all weekend long at The Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds... Over in Marshall, it's the Historic Homes Tour. ... The Paw Paw Wine and Harvest Festival ramps up today through Sunday with the festival parade at 1:00 Sunday...

While you're in Paw Paw, buzz over to the middle school and take a test drive of a Ford from Tom Wright's 2 Paws Ford.  Ford will donate $20 for each test drive up to $6,000 for the school system.  They have the new Festiva...check it out.  They did this a few months ago in Mattawan and it was a huge hit.

* Please do your test drive BEFORE hitting the wine tasting tents.
