"A dream brings you one step closer to having to pay for analysis."   - Graham Lawrence

Dear Lauri,

Last night I dreamed that someone stole my car with my purse in it. What does that mean?  - Bridget 29, Toledo, OH

Lauri: Your car in a dream can represent your motivation, your "drive" to move forward towards a goal or forward in a relationship or career and your purse can represent your sense of self, your credibility and self worth since that is where we keep our IDs, money and credit cards. For these items to be stolen in a dream is a good indication that you may have lost your drive or motivation to continue forward with some goal, relationship or job, etc. Or perhaps you are feeling some opportunity been taken from you. Are you feeling directionless as far as how to proceed with some issue? The loss of your purse also suggests you may have lost confidence in yourself or you feel others are not appreciating your value.

Bridget replies:  I have lost all confidence in my job. It’s a dead end job and I am going to be thirty this year and I feel like I have accomplished nothing.

Lauri replies:  Your dream is showing your situation in the form of a stolen car so that you can gain a better understanding of it. Since this current job isn't getting your motor started anymore, it may be time to go in a different direction. Hang in there. There's something out there that will be more fulfilling for you. Good luck!!!
