According to MIRS News:
The Senate K-12 Appropriations Subcommittee today approved boosting the foundation allowance by at least $104 per pupil in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 budget. Districts at the lowest funding level will see a $208 per student increase.
To do so, the panel OK'd moving $95 million in performance-based funding proposed by Gov. Rick SNYDER into the foundation allowance. And the Senate subcommittee budget uses $177 million of the $179 million the Governor proposed for Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System (MPSERS) funding to cover the rest.
We will be talking about this today on the Trifecta at 3pm
