Patricia Heaton the former "Everybody Loves Raymond" actress has removed the offensive tweets on her official Twitter account, and issued a variety of apologies to Fluke and her followers.
According to the L.A. Times Heaton wrote:
On Feb. 29, the actress wrote, "Hey G-Town Gal: Plz let us also pay for your Starbucks, movie theater tickets and your favorite hot wings combo deal at KFC! Anything else?"
"Hey G-Town Gal: If your parents have to pay for your birth control, maybe they should get a say in who you sleep with! Instant birth control!"
"If every Tweaton sent Georgetown Gal one condom, her parents wouldn't have to cancel basic cable, & she would never reproduce -- sound good?"
The apology was written yesterday:
"Mea culpa Sandra Fluke! Wasn't being respectful 2 u re my tweets as I hope people wd b w/me. Don't like you being dissed -so sorry," Heaton tweeted on Saturday.
The 54-year-old actress also addressed some comments directed at her on Twitter. She replied to Twitter user Arwen Taylor, who posted a Martin Luther King, Jr. quote for Heaton, "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. -Martin Luther King, Jr."
Heaton responded, writing, "That's a good quote - I don't feel it applies to me!"
So if you have a stance, and you make the decision to tweet it, why go back and delete it? I say stand by those tweets, or better yet think before you tweet.
Do these tweets change your opinion of Patrica Heaton?
