Here is some reaction to the death of Don Cornelius

Aretha Franklin wrote "It's so sad, stunning and downright shocking. A huge and momentous loss to the African-American community and the world at large. Don Cornelius single handedly brought about a melding and unity of brother and sisterhood among young adults worldwide and globally with the unforgettable creation of Soul Train.
Rapper Snoop Dogg, meanwhile, was amongst the stars using Twitter to pay his respects, writing, "RIP Don Cornelius. Love Peace And Soul 4eva"
The Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan said: "Sad to hear about the passing of Don Cornelius of Soul Train fame. Grateful to him that he turned me on to so much great music."
Ice Cube also used his Twitter account to pay tribute, writing "Rest in Peace, Love & Soul...Don Cornelius"
The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea posted ahhhh don cornelius, i loved that guy, so much great music I saw through him R.I.P. Bless his soul".
Cornelius stepped down from his role as Soul Train host in 1993. According to the BBC, he was honoured with a place in the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame in 1995, and also has a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
