Kalamazoo, MI (WKZO) -- Monday was the official start of the 2012 football season for the Western Michigan University Football team as the Broncos held their first team practice. Head coach Bill Cubit enters his 8th season with the Broncos. Last year WMU finished 7-6 and went to their first bowl game since 2008. This year the Broncos are led by senior quarterback Alex Carder, who broke the WMU record for most passing yards during the 2011 campaign. WMU opens the season Sept 1st at Illinois. This upcoming week we will break down each position. On Tuesday quarterbacks and special teams will be the focus.
