Frustrating as it is, Marciea says you can’t target specific parts of your body for fat loss. Sadly, our bodies don’t work that way. Ab exercises just sit you down and flex those abdominal muscles—helping you tone them NOT burn the fat around them. To effectively lose belly fat, you need to instead target your all over body fat.
Marciea recommends you do 2 things when exercising. First, increase your heart rate so your muscles receive as much oxygen as possible. And second, exercise as much of your body as hard as possible. And repeat 2 to 3 times a week.
And, watch your diet…it can work for you or against you. To burn fat you have to be burning more calories than you’re consuming each day. Plus, you need to make the best use of the calories with a clean diet, loaded with lean proteins and fruits and veggies.
