A study has found that the average American will gobble down 4,500 calories and 229 grams of fat on Thanksgiving.
That breaks down to about 3,000 for your main meal and 1,500 on snacks before and after. That's way above the recommended number of calories for a single day - let alone a single meal.
That 229 grams of fat you'll ingest is equal to three entire sticks of butter - and remember this doesn't include your breakfast, lunch, late night snack or that massive leftover buffet you'll have the next day.
