CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly award winners for men's basketball today, with Western Michigan's Connar Tava earning MAC West Player of the Week honors for the second time this season and in his career.

Tava led the Broncos to a pair of MAC wins to open conference play with a near-flawless performance from the floor, averaging a team-best 23.5 points per game and shooting a sterling 94.1 percent from the field to help the Broncos to victories over Toledo and Miami. Tava went 9-of-9 from the field against the Rockets – his second game this season in which he was perfect from the field while shooting seven or more field goals – and scored a career-high 25 points, while also adding five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Tava came just one missed field goal – his last shot attempt of the game – from a perfect day against Miami, shooting 7-of-8 from the field and going a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line to finish with 22 points.

Tava is averaging 15.8 points per game and is shooting 80.0 percent from the floor over the last five games, and ranks second on the Broncos overall with a 14.4 points per game scoring average.
