The Trifecta

  • This is a good idea...and done right

Kalamazoo City Commissioners have approved the proposal about food trucks in the city...congrats to commissioners for making the right choice...and for doing it the right way.  Allowing just ten trucks to begin the experiment was a very good idea...despite what my Trifecta friend Roger thinks...it's a good, reasonable number to work with and get important data about...and will allow the proper expansion when needed...nice job, City Commission...you done good...

  • Do it the right way...or DON'T DO IT AT ALL

I'm having more "I've had it" moments this week than anyone should...but this one really needs a rant.  Governor Snyder ordered all flags in Michigan flown at half-mast until Saturday, in memory of a former state lawmaker, William "Bill" Jowett.  Our flag here at WKZO is that way, and so are many others around the area,  However...for some stupid reason, there are several other prominent locations around Kalamazoo that have decided to either ignore this order...or no one is paying attention.  Even the flags at Kalamazoo City Hall are still at full mast.  C'mon...you're trying to tell me that the seat of city government has NO ONE who keeps track of how to fly the flag?  5/3 Bank is still flying the flag on their downtown building at full mast...as are a few at their area locations. Look...there have been millions of Americans who have died defending that flag...if you can't fly it the proper way...DON'T FLY IT AT ALL!  You don't deserve to.

Zipping through the channels this evening...trying to find something worthwhile on...stopped on a CNN report about the mosque in Tennessee that has ruffled so many Christian feathers...yes...you read it right...CHRISTIAN feathers...let me explain myself...a woman who made it a point to let the interviewer know that her family had DEEP roots in the Murfeesborough area...stated that she couldn't understand why a place of worship was being built in her community, where those attending are related to those America is fighting in Afghanistan...if it's one thing that annoys me, it's hypocritical talk...oh...hypocritical you say...let me give some examples...

    - The Ku Klux Klan...an organization that is the closest to a homegrown terrorist group there has ever been in America...based a LOT of its rituals and events around the Cross...a CHRISTIAN symbol...and if I'm not mistaken...most if not all of its members were God-fearing members of whatever church they attended...

    - Four young black women were cut down in a church explosion in 1963 by racists who were Christians as well...

    - Going way back...the Crusades were an example of how killing one's enemy because of religion was not only right...it was HOLY...forgetting all about that Commandmant about "thou shalt not kill"...

Look...I'm not saying that any religion on earth is a perfect one...but for crying out loud...please don't insult my intelligence by playing the "Christians are so much better than others" card...because it's not true...try remembering that part of the Bible that's easy to remember...

  • STUDY: You are more likely to watch Olympic coverage if you know who wins?

    Posted by Jay Morris

You are more likely to watch an Olympic event if you KNOW who wins, According to Yahoo news.

According to the article, two-thirds of people questioned in a survey Sunday said they watch the prime-time Olympics telecast even if they know the results ahead of time.

People who watched the events live earlier in the day via computer screen watched the tape-delayed broadcast 50 percent longer than those who hadn't, said Alan Wurtzel, NBC's chief researcher.

So Does the fact that NBC did the research taint this study? I say YES! Especially after all of the crap NBC has taken from social networks, this makes a great "cover" story.
